I've been wanting to update my ID for over a year now- the current one is really outdated and slightly static.
However, I been unable to create a new one (by means of drawing and countless hours of perusing reference material) because I'm simply Not satisfied with anything I have come up with/sketched.
So, since I have a lot of points saved up and I know there's a lot of very talented/creative artists out there in DA, here's the deal:
DESIGN A NEW DEVIANTART ID FOR ME, UNDER THE FOLLOWING SETS OF GUIDELINES:
(THERE WILL BE BIG PRIZES DESCRIBED- BUT FIRST READ THE INSTRUCTIONS):
Background info:
I was born under the Chinese Zodiac sign of the Dragon (yes I know the dragon was last year-Not the point) which qualities include "being gifted with creativity and luck", having big ideas and larger than life ambitions, being idealists, free-spirited, fearless in the face of challenges and innovative, and very passionate."
and the year of the Dragon couldn't have been timed more perfectly as right now I'm a cross-road in my life where I'm free to explore the world at large, and throwing myself heart and head on to pursue my dream to become a writer.
Simple put I find myself with a Master key in my hands and limitless amount of open doors of opportunity open before me in search of achieving my dream and goals.
So...
ID PREMISE (what the ID should represent):
Depict me/my persona facing the *metaphorical* Brand New web of opportunities infront of me/her (all that the things I done, all that I have lived, people i met have prepared me for this "that sort of heroic-journey type thing* )

Of Course, this being a Contest (and a very-detailed-throughly specific one) I'm sure you ALL are wondering what the prizes will be? So....
PRIZES:
1. I'll be Using the Best-design-most spectacular ID with Full credit to the original Artist AND a Year-long feature of that artist's work in my journal.
2. A 1 YEAR PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP (or the point equivalent- which is 2,396 points)
3. A Full colored digital or traditionally colored picture of up to 2 character with a simple background.
Some last, minute rules--
Because I'm not only offering a full year DeviantArt membership- but also will use the winning picture as my ID, there are some ground-rules for what you Have to/Can't submit.
SUBMIT:
~A Fully Colored (this one will get you more points) or Fully-inked-polished Picture that includes My Persona looking cool and ALL the mandatory elements mentioned above. (bonus points in how many of the Optional elements you can include without the picture getting crowded)
~The picture can be traditional/Digitally painted/Drawn. Or it can be a combination of both traditional/digital.
~The picture MUST be a minimum size of 393 (width) ×600(height) But you can make it as Big as you need to. (with moderation- I dont want something that even in downloaded full view is bigger than my entire computer screen)
WHAT YOU CAN'T SUBMIT:
~A photomanipulation. (the photos in the references are just that- references-- you can't use the photos themselves on the ID.
~A picture that has a rating Higher than pg-13 (if it needs a Mature filter then I most definitely WONT use it as an ID)
~(under traditional/digital drawn/colored) ~~ A lazily-made stick figure-effort with a bad colored job and lots of photoshop filters to hide a job poorly done (I'm offering a Full year membership- I expect nothing less than the best work you can do)
~(under traditional only) A photograph of the ID (IF it comes out really bad with glares and you can't see all the details perfectly clear even at full view) OR a Scanned version so Bad everything looks blurry and the colors washed out.

Because I want to give people enough time to make the BEST ID they can,
I'm putting A TENTATIVE DEADLINE* (meaning try to have the ID done to before the end of this day) on MARCH 1ST, 2013.
and a DEFINITE DEADLINE (you MUST have completed your ID entry And send it to me by %100, or your entry wont be entered on the contest) by MARCH 31ST, 2013.
